GTA Homeownership Getting Easier in June 2025
Buying a home got a bit more affordable in June, with prices and borrowing costs still lower than last year. Even though some buyers are holding back due to ongoing economic uncertainty, the market is slowly picking up.
“We’re seeing more listings, and buyers are using that to their advantage — negotiating deals and making moves,” said TRREB President Elechia Barry-Sproule. “With rates down from last year, homeownership is starting to feel within reach for more people.”
GTA REALTORS® reported 6,243 sales in June, down 2.4% from the same time last year. But listings were up 7.7% year-over-year, hitting 19,839. Compared to May, sales ticked up while new listings dipped, showing the market is tightening just like it did in the spring.
